We arrived on time for our dinner reservations and waited at the reception and coat check for twenty-five minutes without anyone informing us that we could have a spot in the lounge. The dining area was uncomfortably cold and lacked a welcoming atmosphere, making it difficult to take off our jackets. My husband and I were very disappointed in our stay. To start, we drove from NH to attend a friends wedding. He flew from CA to have his wedding here. We had driven past the inn countless times and have always thought it to be beautiful.Unfortunately, our expectations just did not live up to our experience. When we were ready to be seated, the owner—who was sitting at the end of the bar—came over to us and guided us to our table. It was an interesting experience. We settled at a nice table, and the waitress was quite personable. I ordered the shellfish chowder, but unfortunately, it tasted overwhelmingly salty, as if someone had accidentally spilled half the salt shaker into it! The view was beautiful. The deck was nice but had lots of problems with our orders. The amenities state that the pool was available but it was locked up. We could not even sit in lounge chairs near pool. The owner spoke to many locals but never spoke to us. We spent over $525 for dinner, a night stay and drinks, it would have been nice to have been greeted. I do not feel we would stay again. The food was absolutely wonderful from the restaurant for dinner. We had the special lobster with scallops and shrimp stuffing. It was the best meal of our trip. We would recommend for dining but not a stay.
We were a last minute booking due to our daughter playing softball in Maine for the NAC tournament at Husson University. We couldn’t find a hotel within an hour and the Lucerne Inn popped up on our search. Took a chance, booked it and was not disappointed at all!! The rooms were so clean, cozy. The view is incredible, the service was top notch. The food at the restaurant was amazing! So happy the hotels were booked so we could enjoy this place. Already working on coming back in the Fall as a romantic getaway.
We had a horrible time. Was told they would reach out to rectify the situation, whish they did not. There was no air conditioning. 1 fan, only 1 screen in the windows. We couldn't relax outside or enjoy the property due to a wedding. Overall, a miserable visit, and disappointing. My parents had their reception here and we were looking forward to the beautiful property. The front desk seemed bothered by my questions and requests. Maybe it was too much for them with hosting a wedding party

had not found a better place for the home when we explored acadia and bar harbor. Each evening there was a spectacular meal served by staff who sleep best in the cozy and spacious room. we made our maine vacation! the owners pay attention to the details, the property is perfectly well maintained. I miss it.
