We have been to the Lucky Squire about a year ago and loved it. This time was completely different. The restaurant has adopted an Ap-only ordering system with no hard-copy menus available and no wait-staff. So it 's impossible to ask questions about the meals or request things like sequence of meals, sharing or a pause between courses. There were 4 of us and the meals arrived sporadically over a 20 minute period with some of us close to finishing before other 's meals arrived. This is a great location to have a birthday or event at as there’s booths and a quieter dining area inside and a busy atmosphere outside. The food was alright- my friends had steaks which they said were 10/10, my partners pizza was good but nothing special 6.5/10 and I’m a vegetarian so there weren’t many options and I got the gnocchi which was yum but again nothing I would be racing back to get 6.5/10. My friends and I had a good time there, there was some acoustic music but at 8pm they were playing kind of soft tone songs that were making us sleepy, especially paired with some beers. Normally enjoy the food at James Squire but this experience in Broadbeach was underwhelming. We both ordered the BBQ pork ribs which were serve warm and seemed reheated. The coleslaw was off and neither of us could eat it. The chips also average floating in gravy and the 5 small onion rings very below par. Would not eat here again for the cost of the meal. I did inform staff and there was no attempt to rectify.
We had a reservation for 11 adults and 1 child, which we confirmed would be fine. However, when we arrived, the table only accommodated 9 people. When we brought this to the staff’s attention, they said there was nothing they could do and suggested splitting our party into two groups. The employee seemed indifferent and told us we would have to just deal with the situation.

Food took ovr an hour and half to arrive and we had to order via the app which is painful cause you don't have the option of speaking to a waiter at all. Nice place but the food when it did come out was cold and the service wasn't great.
The menu was limited, and the naan bread was dry. Placing an online order was challenging. The group margarita was too salty, and the overall food was average, except for the chicken, which was quite good. I won't be rushing back.
The service was awful. The only way to place an order was through a QR code. We waited for 40 minutes for our server, but they only came over while we were still eating. The food was tasteless and overpriced.
We could not hear each other talk due to the trivia night that was happening next door to the dining . The staff turned the speaker down and was much better , but was still very loud and annoying.

eating was not so good sharing my meal stale. can not pay for eating in cash unless they have cash, but they can use a drink and a card. What is this about?
Nice place. Food came out really quickly and was really nice. Good sized kids meals too
