This charming riverside pub boasts a lovely view and serves a classic British menu that is well-prepared. The service is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. It's great value for money and definitely worth a visit, especially with several parks located right across the way. However, it's not ideal for those with limited mobility, as there are steps to access the entrance and the interior features different levels.

Food was amazing. Disappointing that patio was open to smokers. Non smokers would like to enjoy fresh air outside and not stuck inside of restaurant. Beware non-smokers if you want to enjoy the outdoors for dining avoid the Magpie. England seems to be behind the US with out door eating for non smokers. It seems a smoker could hold off for hour to eat and let others enjoy the fresh air without polluting the other diners experience.

This charming old-fashioned pub boasts a lovely exterior with a few inviting rooms inside. From the riverside garden, it features a functional upper room adorned with stunning spiral stairs. We arrived on bikes and entered through the side gate, where we were greeted by a friendly waitress. I enjoyed a cappuccino, and it was a perfect spot to relax during our ride. Highly recommend this place for a refreshing break!

Our waiter was also fantastic—quick, friendly, and added to our experience with his jokes. However, I must mention that the pub was quite pricey, especially for us South Africans! We were a bit taken aback when the bill arrived, but it was worth it for such a great experience. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to return, but it’s definitely worth a visit if you have a bit of extra money to spend! Reserva una mesa ahora

Lovely place to sit and have a drink by the river. The menu looks lovely though we didn’t have the chance to try it this time. One issue we found was that there were tiny pieces of broken glass all over the floor around the outside tables, which wasn’t great as we had our dog with us who could have easily hurt himself on these.

great night in magpie despite the stormy weather! they are always so inviting. manolas is such a great guy who really looked after us. all the workers are amazing here, always make them welcome and nothing is too much annoyed. eating was delicious and atmosphere exactly right. therefore I am so often here! highly recommended

Best pub in Lower Sunbury. Not cheap, but great selection of beers, wine and food. Can turn up in a boat and park it by the water. I don't own a boat, or even a kayak, but nice to have the option. Favourite space is the upstairs restaurant.
