This restaurant should be so much busier! It is great value compared to the chain restaurants in town. The decor is stylish, the staff are very friendly, the menu is great. I had duck breast with duck scotch egg and fondant potato, with side dishes of red cabbage (deliciously sweet and tart at the same time) and carrots with savoy cabbage, beans and broccoli. The scotch egg was so good, perfectly seasoned, runny vivid yolk. The duck breast wasn’t too rare or over cooked, so good. Then chocolate fudge cake with black cherries and ice cream, good combination! The fudge cake could have been a bit richer, gooey-er, but the cherries, sauce and ice cream made it 9/10. booked table for 1 clock and has not received our net until 3 clock. the workers were busy with the device of a table where no one sits on it and ignored the customers waiting for their food and drinks. this is the first bad experience I had in this restaurant, as a shame as I always loved to come here. can not say that eating was worth waiting yesterday and the service was bad.
Having been here before I knew what to expect and we both left feeling glad we revisited. Booking is easy,the service,food and ambience are all excellent and it offers very good value for money so you cant ask for anything more Definitely reccommend.
Outstanding food and service as usual highly recommend trying the Maven for Sunday lunch. Haven’t tried lunch/dinner on other days but suspect the quality will be consistent. Thanks again will continue our regular visits.

Absolutely beautiful meal, the staff were so lovely and one recommended the stay and dine offer, we loved it so much we've booked up for the offer in a fortnight.
Gorgeous Sunday lunch. Everything was delicious and plentiful and the service was excellent. Couldn’t fault it and will definitely return.
