If you’re anywhere near Rancon in the Limousin countryside, make the trip to The Mill—you won’t be disappointed. My son, my friend, and I were in France on a fishing trip and had heard about this recently opened, English-run family pub. We decided to give it a try, and we’re so glad we did. Sam and Judi have painstakingly renovated an old farmhouse and mill into a beautiful, welcoming pub full of character. Une excellente découverte au Moulin de Roche. Nous avons passé un très bon moment dans ce cadre charmant. La cuisine est savoureuse et généreuse. J'ai particulièrement apprécié la cuisson parfaite des travers de porc et la qualité des accompagnements. Tout était délicieux, de la lasagne bien gratinée aux nems croustillants. L'accueil est chaleureux et le service est impeccable. C'est une adresse que je recommande vivement à tous ceux qui passent par Rancon. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.
We have been eating at the Mill now for a couple of years and thought it was about time I did a review. 18 years in France and they do the best curries on a Friday night that we have ever had in France. Sunday lunches are up there too. Great place. Great Value and the food is fantastic. A must place to visit if your a local or on your holidays. Make sure you book a table. Enjoy
If you love English pubs, idyllic French countryside, English pub food, English beer and English-style customer service then this is the place for you. A lovely old building, a chatty landlord and a glorious outlook over the mill pond from the outdoor seating. Only thing I'd change is that it seems they repackaged french sauces in English sauce jars, which was discombobulating.

Un petit coin d'Angleterre inattendu au bord de la Gartempe. Dépaysant. Malheureusement, le menu du dimanche midi ne comprend pas de fish chips. Dommage !
Great beers. Now a lot of choices. Very good ribs. César salad needs improvisent.
