My husband and I had a fantastic meal when we visited Milton Inn for restaurant week. From the prix fix menu, we ordered the heirloom tomatoes, snails, venison, and tarte tatin. We also supplemented with the fois gras because why not? The heirloom tomatoes were lackluster, but everything else was extremely delicious. The escargot, venison, and tarte tatin are all things I would recommend for as long as they are on the menu. Outside of the food, the service was excellent! Staff checked on us more often than we've experienced recently, which was a nice change of pace. They were all pleasant and very willing to offer suggestions and info on the menu. We enjoyed happy hour food and drinks. The menu is extensive, better than the last menu, and we had mussels and lamb kabobs. Not overly spiced, they allowed the flavor of the items to shine. Manhattans were perfect from a great bartender! And the dinner of leg of lamb and rockfish (pesto was a bit too overpowering for the fish) were both very good. Raoul our server was attentive and helpful; carefully monitoring, recommending and supporting us. And the special birthday recognition was MUCH appreciated. The lime bomb is worth the wait to desert. Had dinner there this week. The rockfish entree was more like an appetizer size; dry and tasteless. Took just a few minutes to finish. The small amount of accompanying cauliflower was superior to the fish. Service was good but the four person table we had to the left of the front entrance) uses small dining tables and uncomfortable chairs which might be better for a neighborhood pizza joint. Not worth the .
Food was excellent, but both of us found it slightly over salted. The atmosphere was very pleasant outdoors. The waiter was pleasant, unobtrusive, and gave us excellent suggestions. Unfortunately, he did not tell us until we had finished that Wednesday nights were 50% off wine nights. I've been going to the Milton inn for many years and let me tell you this place is absolutely amazing. It's worth going there. Eating there looking around it's the food was delicious. The service impeccable a wonderful, wonderful place. Every good memory I have from families functions or weddings? Baptisms engagements, were always at the Milton inn.
Delightful dinner during restaurant week. We did the 3-course menu without wine and everything was spot-on (corn bisque with duck bacon pieces, pan-seared halibut and chocolate mousse/meyer lemon cheesecake). This restaurant is one of the few places in the area that gets everything right-food, service and ambiance. We’re never disappointed!
