The Miners Arms - Reserva de mesa

I went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. I used to enjoy the food when it was under previous ownership, but this was my first time visiting since it changed management. The lunch was mediocre at best, with the highlight being the delicious Yorkshire Puddings. However, the portion sizes were disappointing - my party of 5 adults only received four sprouts to share. The ladies toilets had a nice touch with a basket of beauty products, but there was no toilet paper in any of the cubicles when we arrived or when we left. Maybe the focus should be on the basics rather than unnecessary additions. Overall, I doubt I will be returning to this restaurant.

The Miners was closed in November but has recently reopened under new ownership. I have visited twice since then, once on the opening night and another mid-week visit. This was our local spot until it sadly closed in 2023. I must say, the new ownership has made a great start with pleasant, friendly, and attentive staff. The menu is currently limited but looks good and reasonably priced, with plans to expand it soon. I am excited for The Miners to return as a great pub with good food and atmosphere, complete with a cozy coal fire. I highly recommend a visit as any previous negative reviews from 2023 are no longer relevant.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Today (27/10/23) we experienced the worst service ever. The staff were friendly, but despite ordering 2 broths, fish and chips, and a chicken dinner, only the soups arrived. It seems that the orders for the meals never made it to the kitchen. We were disappointed that the main dishes never arrived, so we ended up cancelling them as they were taking too long. We had hoped to eat together, but we were left really disappointed.

Been for a meal tonight with my partner and 4 of our friends knowing this place came highly recommend from friends, we ordered the spicy pancetta and chicken lasagne special, scampi, curry of the day and 3 fish and chips that where delicious. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing but the best. I highly recommend this place for food and drinks. The fire was on which was lovely coming in from the cold, we will be back and also will bring guests Reserva una mesa ahora

First time here in a few months and it was absolutely awful Place was dark cold and un inviting menu was limited ordered Scampi which came cold and some pieces still frozen so sent it back the Corned beef pie left much to be desired, asked for dessert menu ordered 2 desserts which they didn’t have , On paying the bill they tried to charge us for all four meals and had to be corrected, Overall a bad experience which will NOT be repeated,

Well where do I start ! My mother and her husband sl g with another couple wen for a nice late dinner they had the worst experience regarding food and staff where so called professional staff raised their finger when they left ! My mother and step dad are by no means rude and would never be troublesome so this so called reply by yourself is an absolute joke! Take responsibility for your ill mannered staff !!!

We visited Sat 28 Jun. Staff were very friendly. We had lasange, beer battered fish fingers and scampi and all were very nice. For dessert we all had strawberry, tequila and rose cheese cake and it was delicious. One of if not the best dessert i have ever had. We even took some home for later. When i am back up in the North East again i will revisit for sure

Sunday lunch today as always was absolutely gorgeous. We never have a desert as a rule but we were so tempted by the cheesecake we gave in and we definitely didn't regret it. Absolutely lovely all round. Staff, and service were lovely. Back next week if there's room as it's getting busier ever time. Can recommend strongly. Reserva una mesa ahora

First of all sorry its taken so long to write this review. We popped in as my Mrs fancied a light snack. She decided on a prawn cocktail and chips. As you can see from the pics it was fantastic. We will be back to test out the rest of the menu.

Just had the Sunday lunch from here for the first time and compared to others this is pretty high up there , loads on the plate , piping hot and the staff friendly and helpful , highly recommended and well worth a visit.
