First visited on December when bar was quiet and received friendly service, where we were told we could order at our table if we preferred. . The barman chatted away and said we must visit New Years Eve as it would be quieter than...town and there would just be locals in the bar. We had plans for NY Eve but decided to call in on our way out as the bar was lovely and we wanted to support them. What a contrast. The bar was busy but there were free tables- with no reserved notices. Whilst my husband waited at the bar, I politely asked one of the staff who seemed to be running things if we should wait or if we should sit and order at a table. We were staying in a guest house near by, so we stopped for a alcoholic beverage and to possible book for our evening meal there, as the reviews say the pizzas/food are very good. The draught IPA was really nice and inside the building was...really lovely. We know it had an outdoor area at the back, which is why we also chose it, as we like to sit out doors with being smokers. However, the bar man informed us that they had stopped the smoking outdoors now as the beer garden was partially covered now. This is a real shame, as yet again, the smokers are declined any outdoor space now! We decided not to book at table and left after the one drink. We found plenty of other pubs in York that accom...
Called New Years Day with a friend. Just on spec. As a York person have been in this lovely traditional boozer in the past but not for a long time. Friendly welcoming staff. Excellent service too. Pizzas. Mmm. I’m not a fan of pizza this...side of Naples but this was tasty well presented and served with aplomb. A great experience. So reassuring and kind at such a time. We had come from a local hotel where just getting a glass of wine was like attempting an escape from Colditz. Thanks Minster Inn. Your NewYear hospitality so much appreciated.
Perfect pit stop for drinks. We popped in on Sunday afternoon as we were staying in the guest house next door. We can't rate this place highly enough, super friendly staff, who shared pointers on where to visit and a lovely atmosphere, great mix of...locals and tourists. We didn't eat here however watched as pizzas came out in their dozens, they looked delicious. Would certainly recommend.

Awesome little boozer tucked away in York. Feels like a nice local pub. Some decent beer and the customer service was awesome. Evie is quite possibly one best barmaids I’ve ever met. The world needs more Evie’s , although don’t ask for a shamrock on...your Guinness. It’s not her specialty. Would recommend for the service alone.
We booked a table on the first night of our break in York. Amazing service, we were really looked after. The pizza was so fresh and tasty we booked to go back on our last night. On our second tip we had the chicken Kiev...pizza and nachos, Both were delicious. Thank you for looking after us so well.
We called in here as my daughter needed the toilet and we nearly ended up staying for pizza. The staff are lovely. There’s a great atmosphere. The pizzas looked absolutely smelled delicious and the drinks were really nice too. We’ll be back for vegan pizza...for sure!
Had a lovely evening here for our wedding anniversary, the pizza is amazing and the staff are fantastic especially our barman who made me amazing cocktail! Couldn’t fault the service and the food we had a great night thank you!
