From the moment I placed my reservation to the moment I left, I was made to feel relaxed. After noting my hearing-loss on my booking, I was welcomed with a smile and guided to my table in the corner away from the main bar. Despite this I still struggled to hear, as I dined at peak time. However, my waitress Talli, immediately put me at ease by showing me the tablet whilst using subtle hand gestures to confirm my wine and steak order. Talli also ensured that I was looking at her when communicating with me, didn't hesitate to repeat if required and was friendly, professional and welcoming. On arrival we were told that there were several dishes not available, no great issue! Ordering drinks, one of the draught beers not available due to pump issues, this happened on a previous visit. We waited about 20 minutes to place food orders which also took a very long time even though the pub was not particularly busy. This was also the case for a table next to us. Food was ok but not great so also disappointing as when we visited during the summer the service was great. It appeared that they either didn’t have enough staff or that they didn’t know what they were doing. Unfortunately it is unlikely that we will return in the future.

It is a great pleasure to come to the OATSHEAF, which I do at least four times a week. The staff and atmosphere are lovely, very friendly and make you feel very much at home.

Excellent food; friendly staff; swift service. Would recommend without hesitation. Don't forget to enter your car reg on the machine, though!

sat in a very large and very pretty garden area. food was prompt and we had no issues and will be going back there again.
