The waitstaff are friendly and pleasant, but their timing leaves something to be desired, especially when it comes to sushi orders. I found that service tends to improve significantly when you have a reservation. During one visit, we waited over 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive; we had walked in and assumed they’d seat us, but it felt like they just overlooked us, which likely points to poor operational practices. I had been living in the Portsmouth area for over a year before I finally decided to try The Office Lounge, and I regret waiting so long. If this restaurant were located downtown, getting a table would be nearly impossible. At first, the menu intimidated me with its wide variety of options, but I soon discovered that each dish I've had has been outstanding. The dumplings are my personal favorite in the area, while my girlfriend is a huge fan of the sushi. The Dunny Bowl is undoubtedly one of the top five dishes on the seacoast—it's hard not to order it every time I visit. The Office provided a fantastic experience. True to its name, it has a relaxed lounge vibe. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The ambiance during dinner is nice, with a moody and intimate atmosphere. We enjoyed several cocktails, sushi, and the chicken parmesan entree. For appetizers, I highly recommend the Jilly roll (sushi), tuna tataki, and bang bang cauliflower—everything we tried was delicious. The cocktails are unique and absolutely tasty as well!
This is a truly unique spot. The food is fantastic, and the service is excellent. If you’re looking to meet new people, this is a great place for that. The atmosphere is really enjoyable as well. The waitstaff especially Lilly do a great job and male guests feel welcome. We found this place after a search on yelp. We were looking for sushi and some other Friday foods. The menu looked very good and we got there and it was a very interesting place with couches and TVs and a bar area. The staff was very friendly and we met the owner. We are able to bring our dog with us and had a wonderful birthday night.
