Yesterday, my family and I visited The Old Friar for Sunday dinner to celebrate Mother's and Father's Day. When we arrived, the young host who greeted us seemed unaware of our reservation for 7. We were seated next to a window covered with numerous flies, which made us uncomfortable. Despite politely asking to be moved, we were told there was nothing they could do about the flies. Our food took three attempts to get right, and my son's burger arrived without the cheese and speck we had ordered. Was a little disappointed with the Mushroom on sourdough starter, people that had it said they thought it had been microwaved as the inside was warm,the rest cold, did mention it at the time but nothing was done, everyone said it was tasty though. I had the ham hock starter and the ribeye steak both were delicious. Overall I would go back again, and these days I don’t say that lightly Thank you
The restaurant has a lovely setting, the food is top-notch, and the staff is welcoming and friendly. It's also a great value for the quality of the dining experience. I would definitely recommend this place, especially for those with dogs as it is pet-friendly.
We had an amazing Sunday lunch today, never been before however it definitely lived up to its reviews, staff were amazing, the food was delicious and hot. Definitely will be returning

absolutely brilliant food and service gluten intolerance is it hard to find good eating free from gluten, but here is amazingly lively place to eat great food.

This is a spacious village pub with a great atmosphere and serves excellent pub food.
