Myself and my family get together once a month for a big Sunday lunch and in January tried here (we really have been all over Wakefield and surrounding areas at this point! and the food was so tasty that we came again in Feb. The pub itself is so cosy with a wonderful, homely atmosphere with a great music playlist and super friendly staff. Especially the bar man, he served us and he was so friendly. The food itself we pre-ordered as there was a lot of us and the food came out swiftly and still piping hot and the food yet again was bang on! Went in especially on Thursday to book a table for the family for tea tonight. Was interested to see how the place had improved since the refurb. Arrived in good time and the lady behind the bar knew nothing about the booking. Basically couldn't be bothered. When we finally managed to speak to the bar staff (no table service.. she took the whole food order for the 4 of us and after writing the whole thing down told us it would be an hour wait...(its chicken and chips! . the comedy was compounded by the phone ringing behind the bar all night and no one answering it. Not a good look... we had a bag of crisps each, finished our drinks and left

Great selection of 8 hand pulled ales including ossett brewery and 3 guest ales all well kept plus a decent selection of lagers and bottled lagers and ciders. Really friendly staff and locals alike. We had a meal too I had the steak n ale pie tender lumps of steak with a rich ale gravy and home made proper chips, my friend had the mixed grill it was huge and he said it was delish, but there were plenty of other options. The new manager and chef only took over just before christmas and I can only wish them every success will definitely be returning

Called in on the off chance as I’d not been here for years and it was always good food! The lady told us they’d taken over a year ago and wow the food was so amazing! The Caribbean menu was brilliant and we can’t wait to go back to sample other things off the menu! The lady chef came out to ask how our food was but didn’t take up our offer to live and cook for us every day haha. Beautiful! Reserva una mesa ahora

After waiting for more than an hour for our food, we couldn't help but wonder if the restaurant was going out to harvest chickens from the egg phase. Despite the extensive chicken menu, we ended up sharing our son's melty puffs with the table, as our chicken still hadn't arrived by the end of the meal. Overall, it's a good venue for dinner, but I recommend ordering closer to lunch time.

I am a big fan of the curried goat at this restaurant, but unfortunately it was not available tonight. However, the alternative options of taco trio and spicy Parmo chicken did not disappoint. The dishes were freshly cooked, so there was a bit of a wait, but it was absolutely worth it. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the hospitality with a drink. I highly recommend this place.

Visited for Sunday dinner and really enjoyed it. Great friendly pub, food was great with good portion sizes and also alternative choices to traditional Sunday lunch available. Too full to try the desserts although they did sound delicious. Great selection of cask ales. We will definitely return.

The best local pub around in Ossett.. So accommodating best atmosphere.. dale and Tanya have made this the most welcoming and most friendliest pub around.. always have a fantastic time .. wish them all the best for the future and we will continue to support them in the future Reserva una mesa ahora

The service at this restaurant is excellent and the atmosphere is great. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. This is not our first visit and it definitely won't be our last.

Enjoyable outdoor Sunday lunch. Excellent Yorkshire Puddings. Good potatoes and veg too and decent beer. Would return.
