I always have loved this place. The food is on point and the staff is great. I have only had one negative experience with an ultra hipster waiter who wore a beanie on during 90 degree weather. The guy was kind of rude. I asked him a question about the menu and his response was ?I don?t know, I don?t work brunch??.sick response bro. Having worked in the industry a while, the guy was probably filling in last minute and was upset. Another possible reason for his attitude could be the fact that his man bun was really hot under that beanie. Whatever the problem was, hopefully he figures it out. As part of Maryland Vegan Restaurant Week in August 2019, I was excited to dine at Outpost American Tavern, especially since there aren't many vegan options in the Federal Hill area of Baltimore. The restaurant had a rustic charm, and my dining partner and I indulged in some excellent dishes, including mac and cheese, Thai curry, and a cauliflower steak. I also chatted with my server, who confirmed that both the staff and kitchen are knowledgeable about and sensitive to vegan choices. I believe this is a great spot for those dining with omnivorous friends, as it has a nice, upscale neighborhood vibe, making it a pleasant place to enjoy time with friends.

The ambiance for brunch is fantastic, even if you're seated at the bar. The food was outstanding—it's one of the few places I've visited in Fells/Fed Hill where the brunch truly felt worth the price. We enjoyed the French Toast topped with bananas and walnuts, as well as Huevos Rancheros. The mimosas were generously poured, and the Bloody Marys were crafted with a homemade hot sauce.

We did not start here but after trying 2 restaurants in downtown Baltimore on a Sunday morning and learning of the 1 hour wait time we ended up here. No wait, great service and exceptional breakfasts. I actually witnesed a server sweezing oranges for orange juice, FRESH orange juice! So glad to end up here. In the future it will be our goto spot. Were you visiting for the first time? I really enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere of this restaurant. The bar has a cozy ambiance. The service was fairly average. Unfortunately, the brisket shells and cheese had an unusual taste and was a bit watery, lacking in flavor. However, I would be open to returning to try other dishes.

Edit: We returned for brunch again to avoid other places with crazy wait times. The green steak and eggs (sorry for the poor-quality photo) are incredibly flavorful. Outpost continues to impress! Edit 2: Don’t miss the Tuesday Bubbles Buckets special – it’s an amazing deal!

The waitress was very helpful, but none of the items on the menu are labeled as vegetarian or vegan. They could easily make the web vegan by omitting the mayo and serving it on a salad instead of with sprouts.

Amazing tavern with amazing food! The fried chicken sammie is so good. I do think the fries could?ve been a bit crispier and fresher. Also delicious local brews!
