I discovered Oxford Wine Cafe on TripAdvisor and initially thought it would be a charming place with good food. While the cafe and wine selection were acceptable, the cheese platter we ordered for three people (we requested a board for four) was disappointing for a cafe that specializes in wine. The cheese was served in slices instead of blocks, with barely enough for two people. The tomatoes were of poor quality, with only half a tomato per person, and there were only six tiny slivers of celery to share. This is an excellent bar and café in a vibrant part of Oxford. The selection of wines is diverse and high quality; the coffee is delicious, and so is the food. The staff are friendly and genial. The only downside (and it is a serious downside) is the music, which, both in kind and in volume, would not go amiss in a nightclub, but is maddening in a café or bar, especially at lunchtime. Playing nothing at all would be an improvement, but perhaps something more relaxed would be a step in the right direction. Until there’s an improvement in this regard, the experience of being here is seriously impaired. If the music were better, this place would deserve an excellent rating.
Located just at the end of “Little Trendy Street” (Little Clarendon St! on the Jericho side, this is a really decent wine bar and the perfect place for a date or meeting up with friends. Excellent range of wines by the glass, interesting bar nibbles snacks and a warm, intelligent atmosphere. Not really your everyday student place more for the local North Oxford set or the visiting paying parents of University students.

We have visited The Wine Cafe countless times over the past few months, we always got excellent service, very nice coffee and very tasty food! The restaurant offers a very good selection of wines. Staff is very attentive and all in all the atmosphere is great! Highly recommended!
The service i 1st class and always with a smile. They have a large quantity of wine to choose from and bottled beers. The food is simple and delicious. the atmosphere is relaxed so a great place to chill over a good bottle of wine.
Had a nice glass off wine but no food available. Most of the tables were taken up by students using the free hi fi in the warm drinking coffee. Probably better to go at night
beautiful place. not cheap, but beautiful atmosphere and great staff. a few too many children for my lust, but as long as they are quiet, it was okay.

The toasts are excellent, and the coffee too. Nice views of Oxford going past the windows. Nice laid-back staff. Recommend
