The Privateer Marketplace Wine

Privateer knows how to put together a dish. The food from salads to sandwiches and pizcare, exceptional. Unfortunately they have fallen towards what many other businesses have since COVID, change in service staff from customer satisfaction, to a feeling they are doing you a favor by serving you, plus 20% tip. It has been this way the last few months of visits. We turn up our friendliness to counter the dismissive vibe, but it doesn’t seem to help.

The restaurant is vegetarian-friendly, but the appetizers left something to be desired. The garlic Parmesan fries were decent, but the artichoke spread on the bread was disappointing. On the other hand, the red pepper pesto pizza was excellent, and I appreciated that they offered the option to make it half and half for different toppings. The service was good.

Excellent food with farm fresh ingredient, with impeccable service. The RAEN pizza topped with arugula and prosciutto is the perfect entree, and the strawberry salad as the starter was light and refreshing. Excellent, quick service, and hardly any wait. Eric and Dom were delightful, can’t wait to come back!!

This review is a long time overdue. We have been coming to The Privateer for 8 years as a family, at least once a month or more. Family owned and operated, friendly staff who has become family too, excellent menu with options and seasonal changes. It’s the local neighborhood spot and we love it. Reserva una mesa ahora

Wow, the food here is incredible! I just visited this restaurant for the first time and I'm convinced it's among the best in all of San Diego. I had a fantastic evening and I believe you will too! I'm telling everyone I know about it—the pizza, pasta, wings, and beer are all worth every penny.

The Privateer is my fav Oside restaurant! The food is to die for and they always have fun specials as well! The vibe and employees are also amazing! It’s lovely to see a family owner and run restaurant thriving and I have the best experience every time I come in!

Love the privateer for our family meals. They have a great selection of healthy options along with vegan food and something for everyone’s preferences from pizza to sandwiches. And the wine bar area along with their merch is so cool!
