We came in on a Wednesday evening a table of 7. We were greeted somewhat warmly and shown to our table promptly after signing in to track trace. We were given menus, but had to ask for a wine list. A couple of our...party wanted to pop outside for a breath of fresh air and for some reason this seemed to cause great confusion amongst the staff when it came to ordering. The food was excellent. All our starters were well received as were the mains. The venison was excellent and perfectly cooked, the halibut was aassive portion but still cooked really well. absolutely fabulous pub restaurant beautiful stone building with relaxing bar area and restaurant. very well furnished. well-stocked bar owners ian and helen offer a warm welcome with some beautiful workers in the support large menu many choice for all we enjoyed the thick...cut gammon that was juicy and tasty. with home made right chips a high-quality egg and hand cut pine and a **** and nudel stir fry. that was packed with veg and noodles to keep the generous part of the chicken company everything is freshly cooked and with the best ingredients we eat here very regularly and I can recommend it for consistent quality, worth and service
Excellent food, great value, highly recommended!!! We had squid and haddock and leek tart for starters plenty of squid, crispy and hot, so tender... steak sandwich (melt in the mouth), pork loin and lamb rump for mains couldn’t fault it. Homemade chips to...die for and they weren’t stingy!! All in all one of the best pub meals we’ve had for ages and the pricing very reasonable... when in the area we’ll definitely be back! Staff lovely especially the lady with darker hair so welcoming and friendly in these challenging times...
This restaurant has always been a favorite of mine for its delicious food and excellent service. It's reassuring to know that whatever I order will be fantastic. Last night, four of us dined here and spent most of the evening enjoying our meals. What sets this place apart, in addition to the excellent service, is its unique combination of presentation, taste, and value for money that is uncommon in most establishments. I have never left this restaurant hungry. Excellent!

My partner and I have dined here multiple times this year and have never been let down. We always enjoy a main course and dessert, with a wide selection to choose from on the extensive menu. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is clean and well-organized, and the food and drinks are top-notch. While it may not be the most affordable option in town, the quality of the food is definitely worth the price.
there were 3 of us who settled in the last minute in a booking somewhere else. this place took us last minute and looked around. our room was brilliant, clean, spacious and well worth every penny. the personal was fantastic and could not. for us. that was nice to eat. this place is perfection and I would recommend it to everyone. as if they have treated us with such quality, I cannot thank them enough
Brill, we booked last minute and they were very accommodating and all staff excellent. I had scallops to start abs my husband had seafood pancake, both brill but pancake best. Followed by sea bass risotto, tasty and husband had lamp rump and knife just slid...through it ,,, will defo be back, thanks
During the pandemic, we visited this restaurant and found the staff to be delightful and hospitable. They were able to accommodate all 12 of us, including adults and children. I highly recommend it for a pleasant pub lunch. They also offer WiFi for teenagers.

Stayed at the Queens Head 27th and 28th and had bkfast and dinner both dates Truly Excellent. Will stay there again next year.
