Good little Old-School back-street boozer with strong Rugby League theme to decor. Friendly lively vibe among regulars and staff. Close to shops and Shaw Street railway station. Bus station close by. Greenalls Mild and Bitter!

It is great to see this traditional pub still going strong. However, it could use more customers. Perhaps they could decide whether to have the sports channel or music playing, as having both on at the same time was annoying.

four stars for the friendly new farmer and the very nice single real ale they served, and the hope that they will continue to get the effort. beautiful outside surface, could be a real ale gemach with a few more ales on.
