Visited lunchtime 9 January as a party of five family members, two of whom were ladies in their nineties, and a dog. The booking was made several days in advance and seating requirements explained. When we arrived, no table had been allocated and it was obvious that the staff on duty were not aware of our requirements. The elderly ladies in our party were kept standing while tables were put together to accommodate us. We ordered from the two courses for £16 menu. So we went for the Christmas Festive Lunch. We don't mind waiting. But we waited quite a while. To help us wait they gave us two Christmas crackers. There was a paper hat in the cracker and suggestions on little slips of paper about how we might amuse ourselves. Not the usual crass jokes. But Hey. When our Festive menu arrived There was a bed of Turkey slices covering the horrors of what was underneath. There was a wheelbarrow of undercooked vegetables that were totally inedible. The plate was overloaded with green beans and broccoli stems both of which were not cooked properly. There is a fine line between al dente and raw. The menu mentioned pigs in blankets. we visited last night (saturday) to dinner at 19:15 clock for 6 family members. Online booking was very easy. when we arrived, the place was dizzy, heaving with guests. many parking spaces. we led to a private dining room in the upper floor, which was an amazing surprise. the room is large, offers space for 12 people. beautifully illuminated with a beautiful chandelier. service was fast and very friendly. the menu is extensive and affordable. we all had appetizers from the ala carte menu. we also ordered some pages for the table. eating is from this world. generous portions, perfect seasoning and beautifully presented. I recommend this place at any time on the week or the day.

only from a lunch visit to the rock and fountains back. very impressed all the workers were nice and efficient (not have to wait between the curses;) eating was amazing -for £18.50 for 3 lunches, they can not go wrong. prawn cocktail to start all fresh and very tasty. fish and chips for net well cooked and beautiful and hot. Salmon meringue for dessert again a good size portion. I booked for my birthday meal again.

My Dads 90th birthday 10 of us booked in for Sunday Lunch in the Library. Can not recommend this place enough the food was excellent and the staff were all so helpful and friendly (especially our server Emma). A beautiful place plenty of parking. Would recommend booking as they were very busy. Can’t wait to go back again. Thank you.
