The Rolling Pin Bakery and Patisserie Semaphore

Popped in quickly for a take away sweet treat and got an egg custard tart and lemon meringue tart. The lemon tart was very sweet and the meringue was quite crisp leaving a hollow between the meringue and the filling. The egg tart was ok, it was a little flat and the custard was quite dense and maybe a bit over cooked. Might go back again for a flaky pastry treat or a croissant next time.

I have tried this bakery a few times , it's ok but I have had luke warm pies , the chunky steak pie only has a few piece of meat and the rest is jell like gravy it's not full of mince & steak , doesn't have a large range to choose from . One day at lunch time they didn't even have any pasties ready , they said come back in 10 or so minutes.

Dropped in for a sneaky coffee and treat while out on my early morning walk. Pleasant surprise. Great coffee and ALL the pastries, cakes and slices made fresh (not out of the freezer like so many these days). I wish this place was closer to home!

Leaving home on the way to the club Xmas dinner needed lunch. Steak and mushroom pie and latte with broken shortbread men. Great to get back after a long while. Thanks Cheers beachy
