We recently dined at the Rose and Crown for the first time and we were very impressed. Four of us ordered the Christmas Fayre menu, while I opted for a steak. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holiday season, but not over the top. The service was efficient and friendly, and the food was delicious - everyone in our group was pleased. We all cleared our plates, a true testament to the quality of the cooking and ingredients. We appreciated the effort to reduce waste by replacing traditional Christmas crackers with a printed joke and free headgear. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience and happy holidays!
We'd had a roast during lockdown fir my birthday so I know food was amazing. We booked a table short notice for my parents visiting from Essex, so 4 adults and a pushchair. Then my stepdaughter decided to join us, so booking was amended. Gentleman on the phone was very helpful. On Sunday we had more room than we thought spec with a pushchair. All staff were polite and caring. Meal was perfect and desert there were no words. I'd recommend this pub more than once and curious why we've not been since lockdown is over. Can't thank staff enough!!!
I had an incredible dining experience today at this restaurant. I was impressed by the extensive menu options. The vegetable lasagna was bursting with flavor and came with a side salad and garlic bread. The cod and chips were generously portioned and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed it so much that we have already made a reservation for next week. The staff were exceptionally friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be working there.
Disappointed in lunch food today. Menu looks really good and competitively priced but food quality was poor. I ordered mussels and they were over cooked so rubbery and tasteless, and the bread was poor quality and with no butter. My grandsons pizza was also unappetising, though he thought the cheesy garlic bread was the best he had ever tasted. It was our first visit and our last unfortunately

Sadly we were badly let down with the quality and portion sizes. We order a chicken kebab which only had four small pieces of chicken and lots of veg. The salad was poor quality and the coleslaw was old. We also had the Cornish pasty meal, the pasty was mainly veg and felt more like a vegetarian option. After being told how good the food was we felt disappointed and will not be going back.
We,a party of 4 had Sunday lunch here today 26th Feb and what a delight it was. Started with a warm welcome and a really well kept and presented pub. We all had various roasts and the food was absolutely delicious so credit to the chef. The young bar staff and waitresses were fantastic and a credit to you. We will be returning. Many thanks the Foster party.
Met up with the landlord who invited us to his pub and allowed us to stay in our camper in the carpark.The pub was fantastic really nice atmosphere very busy and the food was really good. Highly recommend a visit here thank you Adrian it was a pleasure .
Came out for a family meal. We had two Rose and Crown burgers, hanging kebab and a chicken curry. All tasted amazing and had very large portion sizes. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Great atmosphere, amazing landlord and landlady, great food. We had such a good night and all staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much.
We enjoyed a delicious meal, with perfectly cooked fillet steak. The staff even allowed us to park our camper in the carpark overnight.
