Awful experience and would not recommend to anyone this used to be a nice pub but after the treatment we experienced the other night, we will not return. My partner and I (local to Elham) came for a meal on Saturday night and the restaurant was fairly busy, but there was only one person serving, as well as occassionally working on the bar. We were very understanding of this when it took a long time to get our food, even though there was no real acknowledgement of how understaffed they clearly were. We had an awful meal and got charged on our bill for items we hadn't ordered. I sent an email to the pub explaining all the problems and expected a reply. When I didn't receive a reply I went to the pub and asked to see the owner/manager he was in the garden but wouldn't face me to discuss problems. That is why I am writing this review. The steak was very well done when we asked for it to be rare. The food was very salty. I asked for a fizzy water and was told they didn't have water but soda water was added to my red wine. I had to ask for a refund which was reluctantly given on the items we hadn't had. Very disappointed.

Enjoyed an excellent delicious dinner with friends at this beautiful pub restaurant in Elham. The small plates of calamari squid and lamb were so flavorful. For dinner the lamb and pork entrees were beautifully presented and amazed. Truly an unexpected pleasure and restaurant staff: manager...

Family Sunday lunch here. Food was generally good...the salt and pepper squid and mussels especially Mushroom pate not nice..However restaurant a little stark and lacking atmosphere...a few small touches such as a small vase of flowers or candle on the tables and some quiet background....

Had dinner here tonight, the pub's third night since relaunch. I brought my children, who are budding food critics, and we all thought it was fantastic. We made it through 3 courses, expertly guided by Chloe, and it was all excellent. The beer and atmosphere...

Delicious food and good choice on the menu so it was difficult to choose but everything we had was delicious. There was a nice warm fire which made the place cosy. Was surprised that we were the only customers as it’s such a nice place...

So nice to enjoy good quality, good value and good service once more at the Rose Crown in Elham. Excellent Sunday lunch with the family. The new tenants deserve our full support. Try it and see!
