This is a fantastic, friendly pub in a beautiful location. The cheeseboards are exceptional with a wide selection of cheeses to choose from, probably around 30. They also offer delicious nachos and pork pies. The pub has a good selection of ales, wines, and spirits, especially whiskies, all reasonably priced for the quality and portion size. Additional parking is available around the corner. Rating: Food 5, Service 5.
Lovely unexpected stop for food and drink. Very friendly service from very busy staff. Highly recommend their pies and lamb shank. Parking: Smallish carpark opposite but plenty around the corner. Nice cool garden on hit day, good food and beer. Obvious staff shortage meant long wait for food, one hour. Seems to be a problem most places at moment. So 4 star in spite of this. I absolutely love this pub and frequently stop by for lunch or a drink while exploring the nearby countryside. The cheese is always excellent. Price range per person is £10–20.
