This place...it looks terrible outside lol.. but don't let that fool you because I'm serious, this was the best food on our week long vacation stemming mostly from Myrtle Beach where we ate at a lot of nice places (seemingly). This place we found on accident. The inside is beautiful and the food is serious, it's chef serious, it's so serious that I didn't understand most of the ingredients. I said serious alot but that's only because this place should be in New York or something, not in historical Columbus NC. Don't judge a book by its cover, you need to seek this place out if you're serious about your dining. I'd give it 6 stars ?. I'm from Indiana and in no way do I know anyone here or end...

1st time in. Had family visiting googled where to take my daughter-in-law daughter to a Sunday brunch. We have passed The Rural Seed many times and from the outside just never cared to go inside. Well l am so glad we did. It is very eclectic the back opens into a large bar area with a place for music that looks like it could be a fun time in the evenings. On Sundays they have a LARGE cinnamon bun that 4 of us shared. They had good food selections everyone enjoyed what they got. I have had better shrimp grits other places so just brought it home for my husband. Not bad enough to drop a star for. Everyone was super nice just all in all a nice experience. I do want to point out no alcohol til n...

I had the pleasure of trying the CHICKEN TORTILLA soup on September 27, and it was absolutely fantastic! It featured smoked chicken, tomatoes, blistered green peppers, and was topped with tortilla strips. I really hope Carl decides to keep this on the winter menu. As always, the food was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient. I’m also looking forward to the schedule of local musicians set to perform. Don't let the building's appearance fool you—this place is all about the food! The atmosphere perfectly captures the essence of Columbus, with its down-to-earth staff, freshly cooked meals, and a great selection of beers on tap.

What a delightful hidden gem! Nestled in a beautifully renovated old building, it offers a charming outdoor seating area. The food was excellent; we tried the sea bass, tacos, fried pickles, and steak, all of which had a great variety and tasted wonderful. We also grabbed some pumpkin bread to take home for breakfast the next morning, which was delicious. The service was a bit slow and forgetful, but it might have been due to being short-staffed and busy. The staff were very kind and polite, though they did forget our drinks a couple of times. We will definitely return the next time we’re in town! Reserva una mesa ahora

We've eaten here a few times, then we brought a group here for Sunday brunch, fantastic service and great food. The cinnamon rolls are a must have treat! Cherry cheese blintzes were tasty and sweet. Turkey sandwich with bacon was larger than expected, with crispy homemade chips for the side dish. Others in our party had kale salad, omelets and basic breakfasts with eggs and bacon, perfectly cooked. Service attentive and meals came out in reasonable time for a group of 17. Previously we really enjoyed the bone-in pork chop and shrimp tacos. Highly recommend and we will be back again!

This is a great place, conveniently located just off the highway. The staff is wonderful, and the food is enjoyable. I started with a salad that was incredibly fresh. For my main course, I had the shrimp and grits special. While it could have used a bit of hot sauce and salt, it was still quite tasty. The tomatoes had a fantastic flavor. Although it's not a restaurant I feel the need to visit every time I'm passing through, I had a great experience and would definitely eat here again.

To start, we enjoyed a delicious beer cheese soup that really warmed us up. For our main course, we had the Land and Sea special. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the steak was juicy and tender. I'm usually not a fan of green beans in their pods, but I ended up finishing my entire serving! Our server was very attentive, and the food arrived quickly, even with live music and a packed house. Overall, we left completely satisfied with our experience.

What a wonderful little restaurant! They use a lot of locally sourced ingredients, and the menu is very creative with top-notch quality! I had the pineapple shrimp tacos, while my wife ordered the Cajun Cobb salad. I wish we could have sampled some of the tempting desserts and drink specials, but we’re traveling and couldn’t make it happen tonight. If you're in the area, you should definitely check this place out—definitely deserving of five stars! Reserva una mesa ahora

The Rural Seed is a hidden gem in Columbus, and it is one of the best restaurants in Polk county. They food is local and fresh, and the dishes are creative. They have gluten-free buns and corn tortillas, which are life-savers for me. The prices are very reasonable, and the customer service is great. The outside of the building needs a little work, but don't let that deter you from eating there.
