The Shepherd's Pub

My wife and I came in for Dinner at about 1700 on April 12th. The food was good and the service from Christian was good. We will certainly visit again. The only problem we had was that one of the persons sitting behind us, next to the bar, was incredibly loud, almost to the point of shouting. So much so that we could not hear one another speak. The person was either an employee of the pub or a close friend of the employees judging from her interaction with the bar staff. If she was a customer, no problem, if she was a member of the staff please ask her to tone it down. We had intended to stay for another drink but the noise was too great. No reflection on the food or the service.

We had an excellent experience here. Was lunchtime on a busy Saturday, and they were able to fit us in without a recommendation after we went for a 15 min stroll to wait. (If you don't want to wait I recommend reserving). I was after somewhere in Elora where I could find a couple of vegan options. We found that they had an entire section of the menu which was vegan; so refreshing to find in a pub outside of the city. Good, freindly service too. We'll be back for sure.

I am a pub connoisseur. In love them. For value, service, location this might be the best. That compares against North America. What makes exceptional is passion about beer. Whether the beer taps or beer cocktail menu. Better than New York City. Admire this locale very much. Don’t travel to Elora but the passion, oozes thru. Excellent.

We had a great experience at this pub with excellent food. One of us enjoyed the classic burger, another had the lamb burger, and the third ordered the liver and onions dish - all were fantastic. The atmosphere in the pub was enjoyable and the servers were fantastic. We definitely recommend this pub without any hesitation.

Food was just OK. Guinness steak stew had lots of peas and potatoes but very little steak. Tasty good but would have preferred more steak. Same with my wife’s chicken curry had more rice and peas, very little curry. She asked for medium spice level but said it was mild. Service was good.

Traditional British pub food is served at this establishment, alongside authentic Guinness beer. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with plenty of satisfied patrons. I highly recommend trying the Shepherd's Pie - it was delicious!

Nice pub and service good. We were disappointed with our meal though. My Husband and I ordered the Irish stew and there were only 2 small pieces of meat in it, so very poor value for money. On the plus side, the gravy was very tasty

I visited this restaurant for a drink and a meal. I ordered the fish and chips and found it to be very good with generous portions. The staff were friendly and I would definitely recommend it. The atmosphere had an Irish pub feel.

Delightful proper pub! Drink are hood and the curry is fantastic! Recommend a visit if you’re in Elora and looking for a local’s hangout without the tourist prices/inauthenticity.

We were denied a table when the place was pretty empty apparently due to short staffing and not having a reservation. It’s hard to find a decent place to eat around here…
