First time ordering here. Used their app for takeout order. No issues. Prices in Grubhub, etc. are a couple bucks higher per item. Food was ready very soon. Easy carry bags with handles and no dripping, leaks. These are all good things. Ordered steak and shrimp combo, birria taco trio, and chips/queso. First 2 items were good. Queso portion was about 1/4 of what would be good given the amount of chips. Tostitos jarred queso is better. I'll go back and try more items. Good to have this spot in Ridgewood.
When you walk in the scenery is beautiful and extremely clean. I ordered birria tacos and let me say they are the best, most authentic FRESH tacos I?ve had! For the most part the only thing that was ok was the birria tacos. I?ve had better. I had ordered through door dash and additionally got a guacamole and elote. Elote had no flavor at all despite it having cheese and sour cream. The guacamole was the worst. It was expensive for an 8oz guacamole and the quality was horrible! It was old, slimy and dark. If you want authentic and flavorful, look elsewhere. The elote (corn) was bland and tasted like nothing. The chips were stale and the guacamole was extremely salty. Tacos are bland. Aside from the food arriving so cold, it was just flavorless. The guacamole and chips are 8.50 and they gave me one of those tiny containers. Ridiculously overpriced. Sombrero Tacoria has an incredible atmosphere in a small cozy town with great dishes with various flavors! I recommend the chicken flautas, even though everything is amazing, they are generous with their cotija and their chicken is seasoned to perfection. The service is great as well, I have been getting takeout and dining in at here for years and I always will. Amazing food and overall amazing restaurant!
The food was very tasty very well presented tried something new that I usually don't try, and it was pretty awesome. The only problem was the delivery driver got lost because the GPS took them in the wrong direction, the food was late, so it wasn't hot other than that, I would recommend this place to anybody, and I'm sure if the food came hot, it would be even more awesome!!!!
This place has the best authentic fresh Mexican food! We had the Birria tacos which is the best we have had! The place was very clean. The staff was super nice and greeted us from the minute we walked in. Very fast and attentive service. The guacamole was also fresh and delicious. I will definitely be returning back. Also it's BYOB!
If one day you're craving a taco like I did and thought of going to a local chain restaurant. Don't. Come here because all the ingredients are so fresh and the prices aren't too bad. The tacos were really well seasoned and they come in a soft corn wrap. I had the carnitas and the chicken and both of them were great options.
I never leave DoorDash reviews but the food here at Sombrero was too good to not comment on. The Signature Birria Tacos (3), Nacho Fries, and Tres Leches Cake were so amazing!! My entire family LOVED them. Each bite was filled with lots of texture and flavor. Really delicious food! Will DEFINITELY be ordering again!
