*RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY AT BOTTOM OF REVIEW* We visited the star today for lunch for the first time since it’s reopening, we had such high hopes as the decor throughout was greatly improved and we had heard great things about the food in particular the roast dinners when they first opened. We arrived at 1.50pm and had ordered our food by 2:05pm, there were two other tables eating in the restaurant one a table of 4/5 having meals and another who had a cold meat meze, our food still hadn’t arrived at 2:55pm, when I asked if they knew how much longer the food would be I was told it would be soon. I went there with my daughter and two friends to watch the World Cup that was being televised in Australia...We stayed for Sunday lunch after the Football game and the food was well cooked and tasted really lovely. There was plenty of it, even on a small lunch. For the area, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere of the pub was friendly and pleasant. Price per person: £10–20

Our first time at The Star today for 7 of us for Sunday lunch. We had to wait quite a while for our food but it was so amazing, well presented and very, very tasty! The staff deserve a mention too as they were brilliant and so nice and I can see why this place is so busy! Great home cooked food, great decor and fabulous people. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Had a great Sunday Lunch Platter. Compliments from Chef to Chef. Served by Shelley who was attentive, pleasant and made our afternoon a lovely experience. Will be back with friends soon.
