The Swan has reinvented itself with a total refurbishment and is headed by Paul Welburn who was awarded a Michelin star at The Oxford Kitchen and has been awarded 3 AA Rosettes at the AA Awards 2023. You enter the reception with a full view of the working kitchen and are very warmly welcomed and shown to the lounge area for pre dinner drinks. Very lucky to have a chef like Paul Welburn and a restaurant like The Cygnet (at the Swan Inn) pretty much on our doorstep. First ate here at the beginning of 2023 and then finished the year with a great tasting menu on New Year’s Eve. All aspects of the evening were terrific. There’s no rush and time to relax with drink in the front bar before going through to the dining room to eat. The whole menu was fantastic and the high point for me was the sirloin and the short rib. Great skills on display and beautifully tasting food. The dining room has a nice atmosphere at the service is fantastic. The staff at The Cygnet are friendly and clearly know their stuff. We went for a date night dinner and had an amazing evening. If this place does not have a star in the next 12 months, the reviewer should move to tyre department of the company : . Delicious food, great wine pairings, incredibly friendly staff and the best cheese dish I have had in any of the 1 3 star restaurants I have been lucky enough to visit around the globe. And I live 10 miles away! A hidden gem, you will not be disappointed. BTW, I have written 3 reviews ever in my life these guys deserve the praise and will be seeing me many times again. Enjoy!
It 's been a while since we fine dined . We 'd planned this visit with some friends who live locally to the restaurant and who had dined there recently. Our friends are experienced diners and when they said that they were seriously impressed with The Cygnet that was good enough for us. The set menu was a triumph and in our view, super value for money, given the quality and what we had served to us in addition to the four courses, not to mention the fabulous service! We can 't wait to go again. Thank you Team Cygnet!

Simply first class from the moment you walk in and see smiling employees greeting you. Wonderful cocktails that are hard to find in restaurants and, of course, a Michelin star menu. Each dish was better than the last, and the professional service was rare these days. Many thanks to all for a wonderful evening. Paul, Oxana, Tomak, Manu, Guiliano and the rest of the team, you are the best. Without you, this place wouldn't be the same. I can't wait for the new menu. See you soon
Four of us came to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. on entering, we were greeted warmly and were able to see the busy kitchen which was spotless. We enjoyed a pre lunch drink in the lounge bar. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. After making our selections the flavour of our 3 course lunch were both innovative, filling and delicious, enjoyed in a comfortable setting with a lovely ambience. I would highly recommend this little gem.
This was an excellent lunch definitely one of the best restaurants in the Oxford area on the basis of this meal. It was fairly priced too (certainly by London standards... . I had lamb both rump and belly with confit potatoes. Impeccably cooked with an excellent jus. My companion had risotto again v good. Attentive service. Nice glass of house wine. Made an overcast November day v pleasant.
Incredible, from start to finish. Food, Service and overall experience was exceptional. Couldn’t fault it one bit and will definitely be returning in the future.
