We looked for the nearest refuge and came across the Talbot Inn only a couple of miles away. After a tiring and wet push we arrived at 14.40 to a wonderful warm welcome from Venetia. Not only were we welcomed in and given excellent hospitality, but her and Son Theo (budding biker and rugby star) allowed us to remain long after the 15.00 closing time awaiting rescue. The food menu looks fantastic and a better experience we could not have wished for. I will be returning with my family (including...
7 of us visited for an evening meal, we were cordially from the staff, nice log fire and pleasant pub, good choice of the ales for the men) we had several different meal times from an extensive menu plus special board) followed by various puddings and coffee, good value and very recommended as place to dine
what a lovely pub that is. the hotel is situated in a contrast of excellent beauty. we received a very warm greeting at the arrival, hot cafétière coffee followed by lunch from an extensive menu. Really cozy in winter with a beautiful fire and very nice decor. recommend this smallness.
a traditional village inn from 250 years. guide them from a pleasant Kiwi couple for the last 10 years serving (currently) 2 good real ales of 4 hand trains. that eats looks good, but they're not prices. but it's worth a visit.
Popped in for a quick drink on the way back home from Rushmore. I haven't been there for years but it was reassuringly familiar. A warm welcome and a nice pint, promptly and cheerfully served.
