The staff were extra helpful and very friendly,offering to take photos of our group and making sure our birthday celebrations went smoothly. Each of us ordered a taster of the wonderful seafood chowder, in order to to have room for our mains and dessert. Two people shared a cold seafood platter, which was loaded with delectably fresh seafood selection. We hadn't been to this gem of a restaurant for a few years so decided, with a group of friends (12 in total), to take advantage of the Wine, Dine and Stay deal. $150 for accommodation at Maleny Terrace Cottages (next door) and $150 per couple for the seafood feast. We took my wife's sister to an early birthday lunch here (as we wouldn't be in the area on her birthday later that week) and really enjoyed all aspects of our lunch.The view from the restaurant is great, looking dowon over the Sunshine Coast. The restaurant is attractively presented, and the little extras, like the birthday decorations on our table when we arrived, are a nice touch. We attended here after purchasing a red balloon voucher. We were greeted warmly by the host and shown to a window table with a great view over the valley to the coastline. Our seafood chowder entree was tasty, although only served warm. Our cold seafood platter had a nice variety of seafood, with the prawns and bugs a highlight. The crab and mussels were so-so. The 'hot' platter arrived with lukewarm seafood. The coconut prawns were fantastic, the battered fish and the scallop and possibly grilled fish bite, only ok. Fabulous service couldn't do enough for us. Seafood buffet through Red Balloon was to die for !! Totally recommend it for a seafood experience with a fabulous view
