Been saying we wanted to try this place for a long time. Finally got round to it and so glad we did. What an absolute treat.. lovely environment, nicely decorated with some quirky extras. Staff were fabulous and made you feel right at home. We were a bit hungry after being stuck in traffic for a while so ordered a few things. To start we ordered cheesy garlic bread, then 3 dishes from the small plates section We ordered: Teriyaki pork lovely and tender knife slid through it like sliding through butter, really nice sauce. Pigs in blankets glazed in honey mustard some of the nicest pigs in blankets I've eaten when out .. very move sausage and the bacon cooked to perfection not a burnt bit in sight Chicken dumplings I'm not a fan of these but had to let the other half pick something, I must admit I did try one and to my surprise I **** loved it ... It's definitely the best dumpling I've had. Mains: I had the bacon chop with fried eggs, chips and grilled tomato. Really good thick chop hardly any fat cooked well. Really enjoyed it. Other half had salmon wellington with seasonal veg. Pastry was lovely and melted in the mouth, salmon cooked nicely was still nice and moist Excellent food in gorgeous surroundings
I recently visited this cosy pub in the lancashire countryside. The service was absolutely top notch. The staff were friendly and efficient and brought water for our dog. The food was outstanding. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. This pub has a good quality car park with ample spaces. What sets this pub apart from other dog friendly pubs I have visited is the one doggie meal per table concept. There is a menu, specifically for dogs, which contains a number of tasty meals that can be ordered free (one per table). What an amazing idea! If you are looking for a delicious meal in a rural, dog friendly pub then The Travellers Rest is a must visit.
Looking online for a nice place to have a nice Sunday roast ..found it... excellent. Well looked after by the staff..good atmosphere. Music. Clean and tidy. The beef roast was very good. Too much on the plate could not finish it .will be back again to try something else on the menu.
