Disappointing experience (in contrast to the rest of our trip). Lacklustre service. It feels like it used to be a lovely little place, but perhaps the owners have stopped caring so much. Why bother with pretty vintage teacups and then serve bland supermarket teabags in a chunky cheap and stained teapot? The cake was sickly sweet and stodgy honestly the worst Victoria sponge we have ever had. It wouldn’t take much to make this cafe awesome its location is lovely.
The cafe next to York Minster is small but cute It offers different types of tea and coffee (the coffee is not specialized) and some cakes, and they taste excellent and fresh Its only drawback is the very small number of sessions If you have naughty children, it is not suitable for them because it is on a side street and cars pass by
I had a couple of hours to spend in York whilst waiting for a bus. This small cafe near the Minster provides a pleasant spot to watch the world go by, with indoor and outdoor seating. I liked how I wasn't charged extra for oat milk, which sadly isn't the case in most places.
