We were at a table on the left of the bar. The service was quite inattentive. After initially being asked what drinks we would like and for the food, we had to keep walking round to the other side of the bar to get service. We had to wait an hour for food and when it did come, the chips were cold on all the dishes. I think it’s good practice if there is such a long wait to let the customers know. I think also with French fries, it’s a hard thing to mess up. When you serve them cold and hard it doesn’t fit with food that’s at a price point this pub charges. My friends and I visited the Waggon and Horses on Monday. When I arrived my friends had already been there for 20 minutes of which the drinks arrived as I arrived. We waited over 40 minutes and still no one took our order. I caught the attention of one of the waitresses as she was serving others. We understood it’s Christmas and it’s busy, but not to be attended to is not acceptable. We had an elderly lady with us and it definitely was not good for her. We ordered our meal.My meal was not overwhelming. The Steak was tough and it wasn’t very hot. The elderly lady was diabetic. Yes, we would have highlighted this and the lady just had a soup. Came here today our first time here and can absolutely say we've had a lovely time food was absolutely beautiful we had the creamy garlic mushrooms and the cornfed chicken risotto and husband had the same creamy garlic mushrooms with the cottage pie followed by the banana split was gorgeous and will definitely be back in the future also thank you to the staff who were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us its a beautiful place too thank you.
A lovely spot! We visited here the other week as part of our Christmas do midweek. After being told to leave from another establishment up the road I spoke to the girl behind the bar pre warning we might be a bit loud and she was very welcoming. We stayed in here for a few drinks before moving on. A lovely spot. Very clean. And having been for food here before, very good food too.

Me and my family love the Wagon. The staff are excellent and friendly, food is very good and the building itself is lovely inside. If you’re ever in uppermill and can get a table it’s a must!
Waiting time very long. Spent two and a half hours and then had to chase up dessert. Had cheese board with only two biscuits which was not enough. Will not be going there again.
Brilliant meal the Waggon Inn, Uppermill. Excellent Food. Brilliant Staff. Awesome Venue. We will definitely be back very soon.
