We celebrated our anniversary Sept. 2nd by dining at Waring House. The service was excellent. Our server was welcoming, professional, and made a positive contribution to our experience. We have fond memories of Waring House, going back some thirty-five years. Our experiences there have been uniformly positive. Until this last one. Please be advised that the quality of our meals was so poor that, except for our history there, we would not go back. My wife had a steak. It was overdone, and virtually tasteless. It started good when the waiter explain the menu, they all sounds delicious. The fish we ordered was dry, tasteless, and not fresh at all. The risotto rice came with it was smooshing. The other food we ordered was steak with blue cheese and caramelized onion( you can choose beef blue cheese and tarragon butter sauce) first they didn’t bring any sauce with it after i had half of it i asked about the blue cheese and caramelized onion he told me that was a seasoning for the steak!!! I was so confused since it wasn’t my first time eating steak, then i found a hair in my mashed potato! all the things that you consider (if we have dined here in the midst of a global pandemic) that waring house was very pleasant. we sat outside in the garden, listened to live music and were served immediately with friendly service. the food was delicious and came out immediately. if they are looking for a quiet outdoor menu in a warm summer night, I would recommend!
