We decided to have our Christmas dinner at this restaurant this year because we have always enjoyed their Sunday dinners in the past. However, this time the Christmas dinner was extremely disappointing. It was nothing like what we were used to from this place. We felt rushed throughout our meal, with our main course arriving as soon as we finished our starters and dessert being served immediately after. The prawn and salmon cocktail starter was subpar, with the fish appearing to be defrosting on the salad. Called with a friend on Tuesday early evening (19/12/23) to a very cheerful reception. The place was 'cosy ' in Christmas decor, warm and welcoming. The young lady who served us and took our orders was really lovely and made us feel very comfortable. We ordered a gammon steak and an Atlantic cod, and both were absolutely spot on. The gammon was a porper steak, not a thin slice from a packet, the fish was the length of the plate and it was all beautiful. I even had my egg cooked the way I like it and I 'm very particular about my eggs! I had visited for the first time last year and I 'm so glad I remembered about the place. I will be back far sooner than last time! Excellent. 5 stars!
This place is slightly out the way but it is worth travelling to. The food is very tasty. I would recommend the cheese bites starter. The steak was one of the nicest I have eaten out. It was done perfectly to my liking. Wonderful place to celebrate my birthday. It's just a shame you can't take away desserts as I couldn't have eaten one there. Staff were busy but still friendly and helpful even though they looked short staffed. Will definitely be back
We visited this restaurant on Christmas Day and had an incredible Christmas lunch! I highly recommend it. We also returned with family on Boxing Day and had an outstanding experience. Two days in a row, the service was superb. We will definitely be returning soon. Kudos to the Watermill and their staff. They are a top team and should never change.

This is the third time i have had food in the watermill and i think it just get's better , the food is fantastic and the staff are brilliant , no long wait for the food to arrive my wife and i were on our own tonight but last week there were 12 family members and we had exactly the same service , brilliant just brilliant .

Myself and my husband had the cod and chips not many chips on the plate but the cod was absolutely stunning didn’t know that dogs were allowed will definitely be returning thankyou .
Excellent service from Faye and Helen, everyone thoroughly enjoyed all the meals were tasty, hot and well presented. We will definitely return

Had burger and chips for my son, they were way over seasoned could not eat them. When staff told they did not want to know.
Very welcoming and friendly pub. Lunch was good but it is the staff that make this place a great destination
