The food was delicious and the service was excellent in a beautiful setting. We hosted my man's birthday dinner for 17 adults and 3 children at The Welldiggers Arms and it was fantastic. The manager, Matt, was very accommodating and made sure our large group was well taken care of. Our waitresses, Keira and Amy, were absolutely brilliant - efficient, helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The view of fields and rolling hills from the big windows was truly spectacular. The menu had interesting choices and everything we tried was delicious. The pub also had a great selection of beer, which my man loved. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Rooms: Although the bed was really comfy and there were nice products in the bathroom we were slightly disappointed with the appearance of the room. The carpet had a lot of stains on it, it seemed clean, but looked pretty bad. The paint work in some areas was poor and the room generally just felt a bit tired and would probably benefit from a lick of paint and new carpet. Food drinks: Really good food and service. I recently visited this pub with my partner and we had a delightful meal that was both delicious and satisfying. The pub was quite busy when we arrived but we were quickly welcomed and seated. The menu had a wide variety of food and drink options, including locally sourced products. Our table had a stunning view of the South Downs, which we were able to enjoy as the sun set in the evening. I would definitely like to visit this pub again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Food and Drinks: The bar is well stocked, with the real ales always being well maintained and served in excellent condition. The extensive menu offers plenty of options at a very reasonable price. The Sunday roast dinners are also a must-try!

This was our umpteenth visit to The Welldiggers. Its a unique venue, good old olde-worlde building with lots of unique internal features, cosy fireplaces and of course the well in the floor for all to see! Great choice of food, very welcoming staff, excellent service. Whats not to like? Service: 5 Location: 5
Lovely rooms but unfortunately did not to have breakfast as we had to leave early But the Sunday Roasts was delicious. Didn’t get to see the lovely views as storms of wind and rain. Would defo go back . Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great value
We had s lovely lunch. The staff were attentive and friendly. The only negative was confusion over the desserts/coffee. We had to ask 3 times to get the correct servings. The restaurant was busy with a big table to serve but they did well. Service: 5 Location: 5

The food at this restaurant is amazing, and the staff are just as wonderful. It was a truly great experience in a beautiful location. The service and location both receive a rating of 5, and the hotel itself is a luxury highlight.
The bar snacks are wonderful. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. Service rating: 5 stars.
