I must admit I’ve always been dubious of pubs that offer 2 meals for £15. Initially we just wandered in for a drink, but after the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere, we decided to check out the menu and try the food. We were very pleasantly surprised. I had the gammon and my husband had the hunters chicken. The gammon was beautifully cooked as was the chicken. We ordered a bottle of wine which was lovely and also great value. Also my husband is coeliac, but they have a separate fryer and are able to offer a good range of GF options. Highly recommend. We will be back.
Decided to go out for tea last minute, haven’t eaten here before although we live local, heard good things and it did not disappoint, can highly recommend the fish chips, the batter so light and crispy and chunky chips were tasty too! Tried vegan mayo which was offered and surprisingly so delicious! Lovely atmosphere and staff all friendly polite and approachable, nothing too much bother. Will definitely return and especially at the prices paid you certainly got value for your money! Thanks for a lovely evening guys!
We called at the Wheatsheaf yesterday for a quick drink and after looking at the menu thought that we should try a meal one day, which today, we did. The pub is in a lovely rural location, it was spotless with very pleasant staff and we enjoyed a lovely meal, particularly the gammon which was one of the best I've ever eaten. The cask beer was delicious. The value was excellent, which is appreciated in today's climate and I'm sure the pub will be a great success as a result.
We often come here for Friday dinner after a busy work week, and it never fails to help us unwind and get ready for the weekend. The staff is friendly and attentive. We highly recommend the chicken breast with mashed potatoes, greens, and pepper sauce. For only £8, you won't find a better meal. It is cooked to perfection and rivals dishes from more expensive restaurants. With affordable prices and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must-try.

Came here for dinner and was very impressed. The staff were lovely. The food was good and excellent value for money and the drinks are sensibly priced too. Roast beef dinner was good and everyone else's meals looked nice too. They also do 2 meals for £15 on Monday to Friday too. Especially handy if you have had a busy day and don't want to cook. Will be back soon.
We recently used The Wheatsheaf to cater my Dads funeral wake. I can't recommend them highly enough. From kind and compassionate staff to a lovely room and excellent buffet. Nothing was too much trouble, and communication beforehand with Molly and Natasha was excellent. They really helped to make a difficult task easy for me. Would highly recommend
Just returned from a trip to the area. We had four separate meals at the Wheatsheaf over four days. This is a lovely place. With friendly staff, very good value food. It deserves to do well. I have visited the pub many times over the years but the refurbishment and other changes have made it well worth a visit. Good selection of beers too.
Just had 25/6 a really good Sunday dinner with my daughters and family, excellent table service and really nice food but just as impressive is the nice small pub amtosphere....definitely coming back for a drink and a meal .....well contend team and the manager keep it up .

I adore this pub, from the inviting atmosphere and the kind staff to the delicious freshly cooked food. The Sunday roast we had was absolutely fantastic. As a starter, we shared some garlic mushrooms. Sadly, we were too full to try any of the tempting desserts.
