The Wooden Monkey - Reservar una mesa

This place was great! I ended up eating here multiple times while in Halifax. The fish and toasties were a personal favourite (had it twice) pizza and bacon wrapped scallops were delicious. They had a few local ciders to choose from on the menu and the staff was really knowledgeable. They also had some great options for my vegan friend, and their entire dessert menu was either gluten free or could be made gluten free.

I’ve been to the wooden monkey about 3 times now in the past month and definitely won’t stop going I’m very sensitive and I’ve never had a problem with the food provided They have lots of gluten free options and also have a gluten free cheese cake which is an added bonus Im not sure what the base is but it’s Gluten free! My favourite spot down town so far

No hesitation to recommend this restaurant to Celiacs! I had a delicious dinner (scallops and pesto pasta with some veggies) and the server (Ella) was very knowledgeable about GF concerns! They have a separate preparation area in the kitchen for GF food. I usually don’t order pasta in a restaurant but the server was clear it was GF.

Lots of options throughout the menu that is labeled clearly. The server asked me and all patrons around me if there were any dietary restrictions/allergies. Felt safe and would definitely eat here again!

Excellent food! Pizza is amazing! Had the soup of the day and the garlic fingers with bacon pizza, AMAZING. Maple cinnamon crème brûlée (without the cookie) is so tasty.
