The Yew Tree Inn

Not visited here for a long time....but so glad I chose to return! Visited with my friend after a long walk...could not have chosen anywhere better....The food was the best we had both eaten in a long time, and we eat out a lot! ...and...are both trained in catering(which makes us extra fussy). The staff were lovely too. Can't wait to return with my hubby, as it's the first place he took me for a meal back in the excellent, definitely recommended

My partner and I (along with our puppy) visited the Yew Tree on New Years Eve and were once again extremely impressed. All three courses I had (the pig cheeks, duck and sticky toffee pudding) were faultless. My partner was similarly impressed with her choices....The staff were very accommodating and there was a great atmosphere. In our opinion this is the best restaurant in the area and we will be making plenty of visits in Thanks!

Always look forward to a visit to the Yew Tree. The last visit I described the fish and chips as the best ever. However, this time it was not the case and quite ordinary. Have standards declined? Burgers were the better option and nicely cooked....Desserts were quite unusual so we passed on those. Service was good. Overall the food was ordinary on this occasion.

I love this place. Excellent real ale and a changing menu served by competent, well drilled staff. My only issue is that the whole place can be cold. The fires aren't looked after enough and the heating is very poor. We're now avoiding if its...a cold day. I know some people won't even feel it or notice, but I don't do cold. Otherwise, it's excellent.

We had lunch here today and we were impressed. Fish and Chips were excellent, as was the Chicken and the Venison. We will definitely return, and would recommend.
