I decided to take my partner at the Tinderbox for our 2nd anniversary.We've started dinner with an entree, arancini balls. The rice was over cooked and In addition I found a piece of plastic of 3cm in it. Oh well, things happen. I told the waiter about it and he kindly apologised and said I'll take it off the bill. So he did. With the arancini dish he also took my cutlery which forgot to bring new ones back. So I had to call another waiter to bring back the cutlery. After the over priced over cooked arancini we had a Tinderbox pizza. The pizza was tasteless, had no flavour whatsoever. Raw zucchini on top, raw pizza dough in the bottom and tasteless prawns. We had a pleasant evening, a group of 9 celebrating a birthday. We ordered pizzas for the table which were fabulous but the extra meal ordered for one member of our party was forgotten and came after we'd finished. A huge fuss was made removing glasses for still water to replace them with glasses for sparkling water , disturbing our flow of conversation and again we were interrupted whenever a glass was to be filled. The atmosphere was great, the food good but the service was poor, maybe a lack of experience and a language barrier . Good value for money. We could have spent more but we're not encouraged to do so .
Our table was booked online and we arrived to be seated. The waiter brought drink menu and water to the table. Great menu divided into small plates, mains, sides and wood fired pizzas. The entrees looked good but we came to sample the famous pizza so decided to leave room for one each. A glass of proseco per person helped us decide. I had the Mooloolaba prawn, zucchini and rocket. My friend chose the pumpkin and zucchini flower. Another glass of Pinot washed the pizzas down. Service was fun and attentive and we vowed to return to try the delicious looking entrees next time.
We wandered into Tinderbox after walking around James St looking for a place with options for my veggo wife and i (non-veggo) to have dinner. Tinderbox has a great friendly vibe, the night was lovely, the weather great and the food fantastic. Mediterranean with lots of great flavours. I loved the Lamb, nd my wife loved the eggplants and the other salad options. The service was friendly and quick, drinks were a little slow and the wine and beer list was ok but not fantastic for choice. We did have a great night though. Reserva una mesa ahora
One Thursday evening, a group of us booked a table half an hour in advance. It was surprisingly busy but staff were happy and had drinks to our table promptly. The atmosphere is quite nice although the carpark is near to the tables and guests are shone with an uncomfortable bright light every time someone leaves. The woodfired pizza was excellent and the courgettes were to die for. My Sicilian boyfriend says it's in his top 10 in Brisbane. We will definitely be coming back here.
This is a great sit down with friends with a few drinks to share a meal and relax kind of place. It's pretty laid back, it's informal with a trendy vibe, good music and great atmosphere. A nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating.A great menu of sharing dishes and pizzas complemented by a good drinks menu.
Celebrated our daughters birthday at Tinderbox last night. We all enjoyed ourselves very much. Shared plates and pizza. The best pizza we have had outside Milan. Choice of Italian wine extremely delicious. Excellant service and surroundings. Would definitely recommend. Reserva una mesa ahora
