The food here was amazing!! We got a little of everything, shrimp, oysters, catfish, whiting, tilapia, stuffed crab, home made coleslaw, cheese grits and okra... All of it on point!!! The staff and customers were so friendly, made us feel as though we've known them forever. Only bad thing I can say, is why do y'all have to be 3 hours away from us? If I could give 10 stars, I would!! Thank you for the wonderful food and hospitality!!
The service towards black customers was lacking. Despite arriving before 6 other tables, I was served last. If I hadn't driven 30 minutes to get there, I would have left. Additionally, I felt the portion size of the fish plates was lacking. I preferred the service provided by the previous owner. If this restaurant is family-run, they should strive to treat all customers, including black patrons, better on a consistent basis.
The filets at this restaurant are incredibly large and delicious, and the prices are reasonable. I wish the other reviewers had provided more detailed feedback so we could understand their concerns. I was camping at the nearby state park and almost decided not to try this place because of the average 3-star rating. I'm glad I didn't miss out on such a great dining experience!
The server was impolite, the restaurant was packed with limited seating. It was difficult to accommodate a group of more than four people as the chairs and tables could not be moved. Came in on a Weds. Next time I'll be back with my relatives. It has a good feel to it. Atmosphere is like a restaurant in Fort Worth I loved.
