We stopped by Virgil's on a whim after landing in Atlanta. We did not have a reservation, but were able to be seated within 15 minutes. The service was friendly and accommodating throughout the entire visit. I ordered the Skeeta Beach to drink and that drink was STRONG. Whew. You definitely get your moneys worth here. To eat, I got the Bussin' corn muffins and the Skrimp n Grits wit crab. The corn muffins were very appropriately named as they were moist, had the earthy sweetness from the sweet potato, and were drizzled in the best honey drizzle I've ever had. Fried Poke Chop: Cooked well. Could use more seasonings. Jasmine Rice: Pretty good flavor. A little overcooked. Mushy GeecheeRita: Terrific!! Great beverage. Black owned, black operated, fabulous food and vibes! They have a DJ that played all the hits, the staff was nice and the food was AMAZING! Chile it was an experience... They had all kinds of options for food including vegan...everything was so tasty flavorful! It did take a while to get the bartender's attention but he was doing a lot and the place was starting to get packed so he was running here, there, everywhere: Also my server didn't really check up on me that often, he was nice though but I found myself flagging him down more often than not... Decided to eat here as it wasn't crowded and they allowed inside dining. Never ate inside before always take-out. Food was excellent and the service was great. Got the fried pork chop, crab rice, sauteed spinach, mac and cheese and the fried salmon. Aside order of the honey muffins to round it out. You will enjoy the food. Music was a little loud but not too overbearing. Nicelocation and good food.

Oh my gosh absolutely incredible experience from beginning to end. Every single dish was served with excellence. Don't skip the Mac and cheese or the salmon croquet balls. The sweet tea slapped so hard. We also ordered the chewy dessert and my god oh I about fell out in the floor. Absolutely wonderful experience, ambience, service, food... Tens across-the-board!!
I visited for lunch and had an excellent experience. The muffins were delicious and a definite favorite at our table. I ordered the fish and grits along with a Henny cocktail that really hit the spot. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be returning!
Food took way to long to come out. Only arrived after we complained. Then it was cold. They tried to make it right but by that time my mind was made up. I will probably never visit again. Also the music was too loud to have a conversation at a normal level.
I recommend this place but keep in one the collard greens no longer have pork, replaced with turkey. Every time I come to Atlanta this is the place I come For an authentic soul food dinner .

Fried chicken was well seasoned and not greasy. None of the food was too salty which is a rarity at soul food restaurants. Definitely would recommend and will be returning!
Thoroughly enjoyed. Food and drinks were good. The old school R&B playlist was jamming. Will be back for sure
