Absolutely disgusting, this place has gone down hill dramatically. Clearly you need to change your oil more often as everthing was soggy and overcooked. No flavour and the chips were dry. Rediculous waiting time after being told 15mins took 45mins. Will not be back and wont recommending. Seems like no one knows what there doing. If you dont know how to run a fish and chip shop then shut it down and do us all a favour. Edit, whats your excuse for the dark brown potato cakes. You definitely dont change your oil everyday, no chip shop does so stop lieing to your customers and take the feedback on board and do better. You wont last in business if you serve sub standard products.
We use to love this place. However the owners have changed hands and the quality has gone down hill. We had chips that had a funny taste to it the first time we ate under new management but the second time was appalling. The burger meat was burnt and one of the workers were scraping off the burnt meat off the patty (which part of it was still raw). Oil was everywhere too. Very unhygienic. (Update) first time eating here under new management was not during the potato shortage this was several months back. the second time eating here with the burger issue was within 1 2 weeks ago. I have made this review now cause this place was brought my attention again.
I’m normally happy with this place but tonight made me really annoyed I rang up at 5:30 just to be told my order will be ready soon so I went straight down there. At about 6:00 my chips, skinless, and potato cakes came out and was sitting for half an hour well I wait for my burgers. I also had to tell the staff I think that is my burgers and order sitting there. If I don’t do this I don’t know how long I would have been. I got home all of my food was cold but my burgers and my partner chicken Schnitzel burger was badly burnt. I am really hoping this was just one bad night
Ladies and gentlemen of melton I am quite disappointed in the process of the bs that us as consumers have to go through when our delivery does not arrive through menulog.....and not only did my food not arrive..the driver stopped out the front of my address they took off and did not Deliver my order when I contacted the restaurant I was not impressed.. Always great. They do get busy but I can assure you that it is worth the wait if they are. The guys here always work hard and the Panko calamari is fabulous. I'd love to know where they get their pickled mussels. I try to get them when ever I visit this shop. Three vinegar of the mussels with the salted chips is amazing.
