Oh how I missed Tokyo Lobby when the San Gabriel location was still open. Just happy to know it's not gone entirely so I can still get my fix of this place but have to go out of my way to eat this. This is almost exactly as I remembered minus a few things. The decor at the closed location was more retro while this location lacked a bit but does have a bit more sophisticated feel to it from the closed location. The chicken and beef teriyaki is exactly like i remembered and it's still just as tender, flavorful and delicious! The only thing I feel was a tad different was the tempura dipping sauce which seems much more bland and watered down. Lacked the soy and sweetness to other tempura sauces....

Came here with hubby today for reliably good food. I used to come here with my family growing up and always enjoyed a great meal at this restaurant. Through the years there has been a change of ownership, but the quality and service has remained. The menu is extensive . If you can 't find what you like , just tell the waiter if you can custom order what you want ask what the price may be though, before you place your order) ... This place used to be the family's spot for special occasions. I found it is still here. From what I can recall, the old owner had three restaurants. Two permanently closed accept for this one own by a different owner. He took off all the old decorations and brightened up the place. It looks good. Same chairs and tables, it looks like. It's a big restaurant so it fits lots of people. 85% of the restaurant was full. That's a good sign. I went on Sunday with some friends. The menu looks kind of the same. Big menu as usual. First thing I'll say is: they have tons of choices and if you don't know what you want or like, you'll be with the menu for quite some time It was my second time coming here and there was literally no one in the restaurant at a Monday dinner time which was odd. Ordered the Bento Combo: Tempura Sashimi Teriyaki Chicken Comes with a bowl of rice, miso soup and salad Priced at $22.95 Teriyaki Chicken was not too sweet or salty; it was just right Sashimi was fresh with big fat cuts The tempura was a bit disappointing though. My daughter took us here yesterday for Father's Day! We ordered the Golden Lobster boat, and it was AMAZING!! Food was delicious and way more than the 4 of us could eat. It came with miso soup and salad and two rolls of 4 options. We took 2 containers full of food home. And the green tea ice cream, soooo good. We joked that we wanted a gallon to take home. Lol the place was clean, service was very good. Staff friendly and very attentive to us. If you ever went to the original one in San Gabriel, the quality is just as great, if not better. Will definitely go again!!!

It feels good to be back! I worked at this Tokyo Lobby and the San Gabriel location when I was at university. There is still one employee that worked when I did way back when. The owner has changed but some of the original decorations are still displayed. Gone are the photo albums that served as menus. I ordered teriyaki, CA Roll and tempura. Was delicious as always. Of course I'll be back and also order takeout!

They still have the sushi boat, which has been around for many years. I honestly think this place always attracts customers. The sushi boat was pretty expensive and not something I'd consider order anytime soon. But it's still pretty good and the servers are good at serving their customers. They also keep the place clean. I used to frequent the other Tokyo Lobby in San Gabriel when I was growing up. It had a similar vibe but more lighting compared to the other location. I left extremely satisfied. Got one of the boats, which I feel is the way to go since it had so much sashimi. Plus, it comes with ice cream!

The Sushi Boat was very good and I was wowed with the price of dinner. I will be a loyal customer for years to come as i am new to the area.
