Went here because a me su was closed. When you first enter the restaurant it absolutely REEKS of fish. It was extremely overpowering and even made me nauseous. The service was not very good I stood at the entrance for about 5-10 minutes before being acknowledged and another 5-10 to get menus even though there was only one other couple in the restaurant. To be fair the food did come fast. The restaurant is not well decorated and the seats are very uncomfortable, absolutely doesn't stand up to a me su which has very chic and modern decor. Disclaimer: I don't like sushi. Its a seaweed thing.It seems odd then that I would love this restaurant. However, the food is consistantly excellent and the service is always good. I almost always order a Gyoza bento box, and substitute the daily sushi special for extra gyoza. Its delish! Tempura is vegetable and includes potatoes, sweet potatoes, zucchini and a prawn, plus a couple of doubles. Usually about 5 pieces. The salad has a magical dressing and the miso soup is tasty. The rice is sticky and helps to fill the hunger gap on those hungry days.For bonus points, the sunomono salad is spectacular. I went here because Ame su is closed. Im thankful because im hungry but at the same time I have no choice. So I ordered prawn tempura, gyoza and pork don buri. Prawn tempura is cooked right. Its crunchy but the sauce is bland. Gyoza is good when paired with the gyoza sauce. But the sauce that they gave is just spicy. It didnt complement the gyoza and lastly, the pork don buri. I was expecting egg to be included though its not written in the menu. I guess pork don buri are prepared differently. The pork is not tender. Kinda tough. Rice smells bad. Its like old and was just heated in the microwave oven. I didnt enjoy eating here.

This place has the best sashimi in town. We always enjoy our food at Tokyo, and the relatively new owners are doing a wonderful job. This is a hard working family that is providing great food and a relaxed atmosphere. Though not super cheap, if you want to spring for sushi this is the place (sushi is never cheap in the north!) Their tempura is super crispy and their rolls have plenty of filling (not just a bunch of rice with tiny pieces of fish!). The service was good. The food was also good and fresh. Price wise this place is within expected. However I prefer another sushi place in Quesnel over Mini Japan (aka Tokyo Sushi). Plus the rollie rollie are unique but not to my taste.

Tokyo Sushi serves up some really tasty rolls like dynamite and the BIlly Barker. It's location is really convenient as well. I definitely recommend it as the best place to get sushi in Quesnel.

I love the California bento boxes and watching them make the rolls???? If there is something you would like to substitute they are always happy to do it❤️

Great food, friendly service....we would go back.the teriyaki dish, tempura and rolls were fantastic.
