This place is over the road from my house and is a nice option to have, but I prefer to places where vegan is better understood (Yak Yeti or better, to all-vegan True Bistro, both in East Somerville . While it is true that Tom Yum Koong has many tofu and vegetable options, there are no vegetarian marks and they do not seem to understand the word vegan, so I felt nervous when eating there that they are not the care I want to ensure that my food is not prepared in the same pan as their many fish-shrimp-based dishes or that their sauces are totally vegan. I have nothing to talk about English-as-Second-Language Folks, but if they don't know the term vegan, then it can be difficult to really know whether what they say is vegetarian actually vegan or not (especially since so many people consider fish as vegetarian. For what it is worth, her food is delicious; I'm just not highly rated because I don't consider them very vegan-friendly.
