I recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately had a negative experience with the new waitress who had a ponytail. She was extremely unfriendly and gave small portions. I ordered oxtail for $23 and only received 4-5 pieces with a large amount of rice. The atmosphere was lacking warmth and class. I suggest they hire Jon Taffer for staff training. Overall, I would rate the food a 2, service a 1, and atmosphere a 1.
I was shocked by the unprofessionalism of the staff at this restaurant. They were rude and seemed to blame the customers for their own unhappiness. The two women working behind the counter were aggressive and unkempt. I would not recommend buying food here as it is a detriment to the community. Overall, I would rate the service, atmosphere, and food all as a 1 out of 5. The cost per person for dinner was $20-30.
Food is pretty good and authentic in flavors. They give good portions- expect to spend if you like sides like Breadfruit or bammy...it adds up quick. Some days the service is ehhh as you will be waiting to even be acknowledged- this sucks when you waited behind someone being served only to go up and hear we don 't have that today . I have visited this restaurant several times and found that the staff were not friendly and did not greet customers. They displayed unprofessional behavior and seemed very frustrated with customers. I always enjoy dining at this restaurant. My son has been eating there since he was 2 years old. The rolls are always fresh and soft, and the oxtails are consistently tender. The mac and cheese is amazing, made in a southern style without any peas or strange additives. Our absolute favorite dish is the Ackee Saltfish.
The oatmeal and banana porridge I received was unsweetened and had a strange consistency. I have ordered porridge from this restaurant many times before, but there was definitely something wrong this time. It did not look fresh and appeared to have been reheated. Unfortunately, they have lost a loyal customer.
The food was mediocre. I visited this restaurant twice to give them a chance. The mac and cheese was really disappointing. They need to improve on that. However, I did enjoy the curry dish, it was decent.
