Tony's Pizza Hickory

Called 4 times to place order on the phone. Finally had the phone answered and placed on hold for 5+ minutes. Gave up trying to place a phone order and ordered online via Slice through Google and order was confirmed for pickup at 8:50 p.m. Upon arrival was informed Tony's doesn't take orders via Slice and had no record of the order. Guy behind the counter said it would be 35 minutes for a pizza but they were closing at 9 p.m. Not sure what the hell is going on but it seems like they don't want any orders after 8 p.m. Called Slice and they had no record of Tony's no longer accepting the orders. What an awful first impression. Dirty tables, soda fountain not working, cranky cashier and unhappy pizzaiolo. Our party ordered and our food was spread out. Half the people were dove eating by the time my pie was ready. And it was incomplete. How does one makes pepperoni pizza without pepperoni? Tony's pizza knows how, just give out a cheese pizza. I'm undecided on a return visit. Bad day or lose money. Definitely my worse experience at pizza restaurant. Might I recommend Greenway Pizza in Morganton or if further afield Pupatella in Virginia.

The first time and last time. I'd make the pizza alone. There were no clean tables. Food particles on the ground. Bathroom dirty. Staff not friendly. Order two pizzas with salads, total $52 with drinks. Salads had tomatoes with black spots. Pizzas had little or no marinara and bad taste. I saw pizza made. I didn't see any fresh ingredients. It looked like everything came from a can or pre-cut cooling bags. Overpriced and overrated!

Food is always good. The service is always terrible. The restaurant is not clean, the staff is always disorganized and diceed to get food, and the food is always delayed. Plan to wait awhile and have your order wrong when you go during any kind of busy time.

Good employees, but very slow. Tell you 5 minutes 30 later you can have your food. No management. Watch friends coming from employees and get food faster or based on how good you look in short shorts
