Tor's Fish & Chips

My wife and I were in Orillia last week to attend a concert and decided to have some fish and chips which we hadn't eaten in several weeks. We found Tor's while driving around and decided to try the eatery. We were not familiar with the restaurant as we had never been there but a patron "steered us to the Order & Pick Up Window". we placed our orders and were given a number and returned to our table. It didn't take long before our server was there with the 2 plates of Halibut & Chips which were piping hot. I think this is my 20th fish and chip review on tripadvisor and food is subjective, so just because I like it doesn't mean you will and vise versa.Small simple restaurant downtown that holds about 60 people. Good portion meal and the fish was cooked proper and the batter was crisp and evenly cooked, not too much batter. Fresh cut home fries are a must and they have them here. Great fish and chips. Eat in or take out. We usually get 1 piece of fish each, as the portions are great. We usually eat in, but I have called in a pick up order in the past. The restaurant is clean, I like the interior decoration throughout the restaurant.Nice small restaurant on the main core of downtown Orillia.I would recommend this establishment.

I always go here! The fish is a good portion and so are the fries if you order it also; and who wouldn't? I am really picky on my tartar sauce and they have the best! The people are really nice great friendly service. If you are obsessed enough with the food they will remember your name and that's nice also!! Keep it up guys! You're awesome! I have loved this place for 8years. We went last week after a long hiatus. It was my last visit. The batter has be changed, the serving choices have been taken away.. The serving of coleslaw is laughable The quality of the fish is awesome as always. Choices one piece lunch ,two piece dinner a thing of the past.

By any standard this is a decent enough fish and chip restaurant, thexrestaurant is attractive and the halibut that I had was very good.The problem is that Duckworth's fish n chips on Atherley Road, also in Orillia, has a wider selection of fish, larger servings and lower prices. That's tough to beat.

Huge piece of fish with hot fries. Onion rings were delicious and not greasy. Halibut was thick and cooked perfectly. Generous portions and charming decor. Very friendly staff and great service. Clean and bright environment. Best lunch in Orillia!!!

This is the best place around for good old fish and chips. Hand cut fries, homemade tartar sauce (to die for) great slaw, nice fresh fish! The clam chowder is the BEST! Right on main street. Reserva una mesa ahora

We have the Halibut and chips regularly. You get a good size order. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Give it a try if you are in Orillia

Just like home, fish and chips are best in town. Plate is big so come in hungry, and they have malt vinegar!
