We have been here before but this was a nice stop before heading to Comerica Park to see a concert. We came in simply for a few drinks and to kill a little time. We sat at the bar and found the service to be friendly and quick. This place was super busy as others had the exact same idea. There is a lot to look at and the place is decorated pretty cool. There was a musician playing which was a nice touch. We didn't eat and I don't think I have ever eaten here so I can't comment on the food. We spend a lot of time in Detroit and we enjoy our time here so we will be back. It's so convenient!
We settled at the bar for drinks for about an hour before a show. The bartenders seemed visibly annoyed by our requests, yet they readily attended to male customers. We had to go out of our way to get someone's attention. Additionally, the bathroom was appallingly dirty, with used paper towels covering the sink area and floor. We won’t be returning.
I should have believed all of the bad reviews but took a chance and went here before a show at the Fox Theater. Bartenders were incredibly rude and acted like it was an inconvenience to wait on us. No beer on tap, only cans. About four things on their food menu. We drank our one drink and couldn't get out of there fast enough.
On a lovely warm Sunday afternoon in Detroit (specifically September 18), with the Lions playing and the Tigers just finishing up, the city is alive with activity as people gather for Chris Rock at the Fox Theatre. Meanwhile, the Town Pump is closed, missing out on potential customers. Good luck with that.

What an amazing atmosphere! This feels like the bar your father or grandfather went to. Nostalgia abounds. Beautiful woodwork throughout... But let's talk about the service. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. They serve a wonderful list of beers and spirits; but the food? Very nice top notch!
I attempted to visit today and found the place to be clean and stylish, with open swing-out windows and great music. Unfortunately, they were short-staffed and the kitchen wasn't able to open. Given that my teenagers need to eat every couple of hours, this wasn't suitable for us.
Bartender was very short and prices were high for what looks like a dive bar. An already small menu they were out of over half of it and it was only 2 pm. Wouldn’t recommend anyone go waste their money here.
Definitely a bustling crowd inside here which is always awesome in this old school setting. The burgers are amazing, and the bartender was doing a phenomenal job!

I recommend this place for before or after a game or a show. I like it waaaaaay more than the snobby HTC.
Wait staff was rude. The restrooms were disgusting with no tp.The building and architecture was amazing.
