I used to go to the Royal Pines Resort years ago and always really enjoyed RPR's the restaurant at the top of the Resort. It is now called Videre, what has happened? We went last Saturday expecting a really high class, fine dining experience but instead found the service, initially wonderful, to be very average. Our local restaurant, normal Italian style, made Videre look stupid. We had dinner recently at Videre for our Wedding Anniversary, we are locals and had a flyer in the mail for a 3 course meal and a wine or beer for $59.00 each, this offer is only for a short time and not sure if it has already finished. WOW what value for money this deal was and to he honest we didn't expect the standard of food and attention to detail to be as high as it was with us booking a special deal. The food was fresh, tasty, well thought through set menu and the 3 of us loved every one of our dishes. Good Wine Good Food Good Views....... I smashed this date night. Well we just had a great night at Videre. Got there a little early so we had a few drinks at the bar, over looking the suns stadium.Once seated at our table we had a great view over surfers and Broadbeach with a slow rising orange moon (prefect for date night). The service from the staff was amazing then our food was even better. We had a really great night. 5 star food, nice wines to match, it was a really nice date night. We held my daughters baby shower in the Videri Restaurant at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast.As there was more than 20 of us. We were given our own separate area in the bar. With amazing hinterland views and lovely lounge seating it was the perfect venue.Marilyn and her staff could not do enough for us.The food was amazing and plentiful. Everyone had a lovely time and raved about the venue and the food. I would highly recommend booking here for a high tea.

We took advantage of the $59, 3 course dining experience offered on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Amazing!! The beetroot and goats cheese entree was devine. The braised beef was so tender it didn't require a knife to cut it, and the cauliflower soup starter was extremely tasty. Head chef, Grant, came and spoke to us at the table about the food. His passion for food is infectious. Highly recommended.
Videre is our popular Saturday night out choice and we usually have a great time and good food, this time it was a complete disappointment, menu had changed obviously chef as well, the food is boring and unappealing, the quality I will expect from inexperienced home cook, I can't even compare it with take away shops as take away shops have much better seasonings, I think we won't be back for a while
Again this restaurant excels. Grant the chef studied under Gordon Ramsey (hells kitchen fame] and makes a variety of delectable treats. The views are some of the best on the coast especially on nights there are electrical storms. A must go to restaurant.
